ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Estimator is responsible for preparing complete electrical estimates of renewable energy projects. Complete estimates include all quotations and subcontractors required for the project. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required. Accurately interpret the design drawings submitted, including civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings. Participate in estimating kickoff meetings, verifying completion of checklist. Attend pre-bid and final bid reviews with the Senior Project Manager, Estimating Team Lead, Chief Estimator, and Business Development. Review bid documents and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to determine the scope of work. Review and understand the project bid form and the project requirements. Prepare and seek quotations of materials and subcontracts. Follow estimating standards and guidelines. Interface with the Business Development team as well as Designers, Project Managers, General Foreman, and others to resolve issues throughout the project. Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for projects. Write scope letter and prepare supporting documents to submit with proposal. Verify and maintain detailed records of estimate revisions and other supporting documents as needed. Occasionally participate in interviews and respond to customer questions. Participate in committees and department meetings, as well as estimate debriefs. Able to work cooperatively within diverse teams to achieve group and organizational goals. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, National Electrical Code requirements, and design/build estimating preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe/Bluebeam, and virtual meeting software. Computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or another estimating software. Competent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective problem-solving skills. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines. Ability to mentor and train. Physical Requirements This job operates in a professional office environment. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl. This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
