Position Summary We are seeking full-time Environmental or Wetland Scientist experienced in wetland delineation, assessment, and regulatory permitting. In this role you'll support multiple projects simultaneously and represent the company at public meetings, workshops, and meetings with federal, state, and local agencies. Primary Responsibilities: Conduct wetland delineations (including independent delineation), vernal pool surveys, rare species surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, and function and values assessments. Assist in preparing technical reports and permit applications under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and other applicable wetlands regulatory programs. Perform project site inspections, construction oversight, and regulatory compliance evaluations on energy transmission, transportation, and other infrastructure construction projects. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 1-7 years (entry to mid-level) experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, environmental consulting, or similar professional work. BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Wetland Ecology, Wildlife Biology, or a closely related natural resource science degree. Wetlands permitting experience in Massachusetts or other New England states. Certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or In Training (PWIT) by the Society of Wetland Scientists, wetland scientist certification (CWSP) by the State of New Hampshire, and/or certification as a Certified Wildlife Biologist by The Wildlife Society is a plus. Superior writing and oral communication skills. Proven ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously as part of a multidisciplinary project team. Working knowledge of GIS and GPS units. Additional Requirements: Work assignments may require physically demanding fieldwork in challenging environments and weather conditions, and may require local and regional travel, including infrequent overnight travel. A valid driver’s license for business travel, including proper insurance and registration, and all necessary paperwork to work in the USA are essential.
