Date Posted: 5/28/24 Job Description: We have an excellent opportunity for a mid/senior Environmental Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to support a wide range of projects within the Great Lakes region. What you will do: The mid/senior Environmental Engineer will assume a key role as an engineer/designer for stream and ecosystem restoration design, wetland restoration, and other water resources projects. Specific responsibilities include: Ecosystem restoration design, living shoreline design, and climate adaptation planning. The assessment of vulnerabilities associated with fluctuating water levels, storm events, ecological response to climate change, and a thorough understanding of hydrology and hydraulics in support of design activities. Support business development activities including maintaining schedules, tracking of opportunities, proposal, and presentation support, and providing general support for business development. Clientele will be wide ranging including US EPA, Department of Defense entities, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, ports, non-profits, state, local and commercial entities. We also offer a fantastic benefits package What you will need: B.S. degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional Engineer registration (Great Lakes states preferred) 10 years experience in Civil Engineering consulting at increasing levels of responsibility Outstanding project management and leadership skills. Strong writing skills are a must. Proven track record of design and permitting within an interdisciplinary team related to stormwater, green infrastructure, wetlands, stream restoration and surface water drainage systems in general preferred. Must be able to operate latest Civil Engineering software/design tools for system modeling, design calculation, analysis, interpretation and drafting software. The location of position will be in close proximity to an EA office in Deerfield, IL or Brighton, MI preferred. Anticipated salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 per year.
