This Field Service Engineer would be responsbile for commisioning and maintenance projects that are mostly local to the Raleigh/Durham area. You would sit on a team of 5 individuals and go through a 6 month training period, at the end of which you would be relied upon to create your own schedules, interact with customers, and represent the company well in commisioning and repair work of products in the field.

Description
In this role, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment, including electro-mechanical repairs and part replacements.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues remotely and on-site to resolve customer problems efficiently.
- System Commissioning: Commission new systems at customer sites, completing detailed documentation and reports.
- Personnel Training: Provide comprehensive training to site personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate internal documentation and submit timely external reports to customers.
- Customer Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional customer service by providing professional and proactive support.
Profile
A successful Field Service Engineer will have:
- Education: Preferred Vocational or Associate's Degree in a relevant field; equivalent experience considered.
- Technical Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and motors.
- 3-5 years of experience in system startup and maintenance.
- Proficiency in electrical/control panels, I/O, PLCs, and plant automation, including control loop tuning and instrumentation programming.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, P&IDs.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong preference for water treatment industry experience, but not essential as training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Professional Skills:
- Proven ability to work independently and remotely, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer-facing skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows software.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours and travel regionally and occasionally throughout North America.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
