Shift Reliability Crew Leaders are single point of contact for reliability on shift partnering with the Shift Supervisor (where applicable) to manage escalation and decision making for the shift. Shift Reliability Crew Leaders lead reliability resources on shift to ensure that asset machinery and equipment in manufacturing plants are always running efficiently, drive breakthrough step change in asset performance while driving cost effectiveness through continuous improvement in close partnership with Operations & Engineering team members. This position also provides leadership and support for major down activities within the plants including: PM downs, capital equipment installations and other major outages driving work completion and successful start-ups with shift resources. When required, this position will serve as the primary back-up for the Mill Shift Supervisor. In addition, this position will drive increase in crew reliability capability and be responsible for driving additional proactive measures in reliability across all assets.

In this role, you will:- This role is accountable for machine performance on shift, partnering with the operations team. The position will lead the reliability resources on shift to make decisions and prioritize the most critical work (inspections, breakdown repairs, grade changes, troubleshooting) to deliver the shift results. Ensure labor is properly allocated to ensure safe staffing levels and to optimize labor costs.
- Responsible for maintenance technical processes, plant equipment and facilities. Lead the on shift reliability teams to proactively execute improvements towards best in class reliability through our reliability pillars and maintenance programs that provide long-term improvement in safety, equipment reliability, cost control and machine cleanliness.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for team members with the intent to build capability for a flexible, more efficient manufacturing environment. Performance management of direct reports will be a requirement for this position including capability building and training.
- Own grade change routines, maintenance planned downs and all assigned reliability work across asset base.
- Work closely with stores to ensure spare parts are properly managed and effectively utilized.
- Partner with reliability engineers and technicians to eliminate unplanned failures, assist with coordination of technical services resources and provide project support.
- Provide problem solving and troubleshooting support across the Mill.
- Serve as functional expert for plant equipment and maintenance systems (SAP).
- Maintain high standard of performance by demonstrating sound technical judgement. Apply LEAN thinking and tools to advance plant operational effectiveness.
- Create and support a safe working culture. Lead and support key safety work teams.
- Leverage systems to identify equipment reliability issues and work through team to drive resolution of problems to root cause.
- Manage key maintenance metrics in partnership with the Maintenance and Reliability manager.
- Serve as primary backup for mill shift supervisor. In this capacity serve as key decision maker for mill for any operational decisions, i.e., labor flow, severe weather calls, local emergencies, escalation, etc.
Incumbent reports to the Reliability Manager.
This role is responsible for a complex asset base due to the number of assets, number of employees, asset complexity and/or business criticality. This position will drive increased crew capability and deliver proactive reliability for all assets.
This role may also own a mill-wide process or standard. This position will have minimum of 10 direct reports and require leadership and influence across the asset base.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline or 5+ years of equivalent requisite experience. Demonstrated ability based on extensive experience and education
- Advanced knowledge and background in manufacturing operations, including technology understanding with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or staff positions including engineering, maintenance and/or operations.
- Ability to scope and manage programs and projects from initiation through completion.
- Technical expertise in reliability elements including mechanical and electrical aspects of manufacturing.
- Experience coaching and leading team. Demonstrated ability to organize, influence, and lead a multi-functional team and fostering a proactive team environment without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience / Knowledge / Training in the Principal Accountabilities listed
- Significant experience in engineering, operations, lean manufacturing and/or maintenance.
- Previous leadership experience
- Is considered an expert in engineering, mechanical or electrical skills
- Internal candidate with 5+ years of experience
- Experience and expertise related to Kimberly-Clark procedures and processes to Lean manufacturing practices and Lean/continuous improvement
- Previous leadership in a unionized environment.
