Manager, Environmental Health and SafetyMACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Centers, Telecommunication, Industrial and Defense application. The focus of this position is to manage, develop and maintain sustainable Environmental, Health and Safety programs that ensure operational compliance in a Semiconductor industry. The primary objectives are to provide and maintain a safe working environment for our North Carolina FAB, manufacturing, R&D and general administrative operations in Lowell. The work of the EHS manager will also include industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities. This position monitors industrial health compliance and will interact with others in the administration of the worker's compensation programs as well as the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions. The primary objectives are to protect employees,customers and the environment by identifying, controlling or eliminating risksand hazards that could cause injury and illness or cause harm to theenvironment. The primaryresponsibilities of the EHS Manager are to oversee, support, and ensurecompliance with environmental laws, regulations, standards, and otherrequirements applicable to MACOM's operations in North Carolina..
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, review and update environmental health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with all Federal, State, and local government regulations as well as company and customer standards.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and municipal regulations.
- Conduct EHS audits on a recurring basis. Identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead innovative strategies and programs for improving safety awareness and safety culture.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and personal protective equipment reviews and assessments.
- Prepare and report EHS KPIs.
- Implement management of change processes associated with operational modifications to the site that may impact safety, sustainability, or other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene programs
- Assist in the development, maintenance and reporting of EHS training.
- Manage site specific Emergency Response Teams for hazardous materials incidents or emergencies
- Manage injury and incident reviews, root cause analysis, and knowledge share communication.
- Support Workers Compensation claims to include investigations and case management.
- Provide technical guidance or advice to employees, supervisors, and managers on various EHS compliance requirements.
- Chair the Research Triangle Park EHS Committee.
- Maintain the ISO 14001 Management System
- Support other MACOM sites on EHS as directed by the Senior EHS Manager.
- Support any additional duties as required by Management.
Qualifications- CIH, CSP or equivalent professional certification certification or willingness to work towards preferred.
- 7-10 years of related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database applications (SAP a plus)
Education - Bachelor of Science Degree in the Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
- Advanced degree in the environmental health and safety or related field preferred.
Experience - Extensive knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and policies
- Developed and improved an EHS Management System
- Extensive knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and policies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skilled in hazardous materials management
