JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Coordinating Studio Director
Department: MLS Production Department (IMG Studios)
Main Purpose of Job: To set a creative direction for the look and feel of MLS studio shows in English and Spanish languages on Apple TV, and direct some of the most entertaining shows in the game.
Reports To: SVP, Director of Content
Direct Reports: Freelance pool
Indirect Reports: N/A
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Set the direction for the look and feel of the MLS studio programmes across both English and Spanish language.
- Direct shows each week in one of the studios.
- Be a leading voice in the visual evolution of the programmes.
- Work with show producers to ensure each programme is entertaining and informative.
- Set the IMG studio style guide for all shows.
- Provide detailed direction for studio directors.
- Run regular feedback and check-in sessions with directors.
- Introduce new ideas and ensure teams are updated with global trends.
- Work with the Production Management team to roster freelance studio staff.
- Set weekly meetings for incremental improvements.
- Work with Senior Coordinating Producer for consistency between studio teams.
- Support on-air talent editorially.
- Collaborate with other Senior Production staff for staffing requirements.
- Work closely with Production Management for financial and personnel management.
- Ensure regular appraisals for studio directors and facilitate training needs.
- Responsible for production innovation and improvements.
- Attract and retain the best talent.
- Ensure IMG is at the forefront of diversity & inclusion.
- Ensure IMG is at the forefront of sustainability.
Unusual Challenges or Circumstances:
- Required to respond to feedback from MLS and Senior Management.
- Weekend work and long shifts may be required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and Experience
Mandatory:
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a Studio Director in sports programmes.
- Experience with virtual studio environments.
- Experience managing people and high-profile clients.
- Strong knowledge of soccer globally.
- Proven experience communicating with large production teams.
- Experience leading production teams to achieve objectives.
- Proven history of performance management.
- Relevant production technical workflow analysis.
- Understanding of employment law and corporate social responsibility.
Desirable:
- Experience on international television events.
