Do you have the ability to maintain relationships with key stakeholders, manage program planning, and ensure operations are in compliance with established guidelines? Then look no further! The Virginia Department of Energy, State Energy Office, is seeking a Solar Workforce Coordinator to oversee the Solar for All workforce development program, the Clean Energy Business Accelerator, as well as coordinate with the Energy Efficiency Workforce Coordinator to ensure the Commonwealth can deliver on key federal funded projects.
Anticipated funding for this position is approved through December of 2029 in which continued funding for this position is contingent on the availability of grants. Additionally, this position is currently approved to work a Hybrid telework schedule with four days in the office and one day of telework.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience related to workforce development, including experience working with public and private entities involved in workforce development, such as workforce development boards, community colleges, private training providers, labor unions, and federal and state entities managing registered apprenticeships.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, and local government officials and representatives of private contractors, advocacy groups, and community-based organizations.
• Ability to manage program planning, operations in compliance with set guidelines, budgeting, performance evaluation, and reporting and well as to procure and manage external vendors providing program support.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to analyze and communicate information clearly and concisely.
• A strong working knowledge of computer business and communications application software such as Microsoft Office.
• Advanced problem-solving skills to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and manage risks in program operations.
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members to move program tasks and initiatives forward.
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
This position has been designated as required to file a Statement of Economic Interest in accordance with Section 2.2-3114 of the Code of Virginia. In addition, individuals accepted for employment will have to successfully pass a drug test, reference and background check as part of the Virginia Energy pre-employment process.
Additional Considerations
• Experience with workforce in the solar industry is a plus.
