About the Role
The Program Director is responsible for leading the Solar Automation Program, driving consistent program execution, and overseeing the Program Management Office (PMO) for the business unit. Reporting to the General Manager of the Construction Division, this role ensures alignment between program objectives, business priorities, and corporate standards.
Your Impact
In this role, you will:
- Lead Program Execution: Oversee the Solar Automation Program, ensuring successful delivery of program objectives, including planning, execution, and risk mitigation.
- Establish PMO Leadership: Manage the PMO structure within the business unit, driving adherence to corporate methodologies and program management best practices.
- Drive Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with key leaders across product management, engineering, and operations to align program goals with organizational priorities.
- Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for program communications, providing timely updates to stakeholders, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure Resource Optimization: Oversee resource allocation for program managers, project managers, and scrum masters to balance capacity and priorities effectively.
- Enhance Financial Performance: Manage program budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial control across all workstreams.
- Enable Risk Management: Proactively identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to ensure programs remain on track.
- Foster Continuous Improvement: Drive lessons learned and process improvements to enhance program delivery and PMO operations.
What You'll Do
- Program Oversight: Lead multiple workstreams within the Solar Automation Program to deliver business value and achieve program KPIs.
- PMO Governance: Develop and implement consistent project management processes, including phase-gate reviews and reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the GM, Product Director, and Engineering Director to prioritize deliverables and ensure program alignment.
- Resource & Financial Management: Oversee the allocation of program resources, ensuring optimized use of talent, tools, and budgets.
- Risk & Issue Management: Develop contingency plans, mitigate program risks, and resolve issues quickly to minimize disruptions.
- Program Reporting: Provide timely, accurate reports to executive leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and key achievements.
- Change Management: Manage changes to scope, timelines, and resources while facilitating adoption of new tools and processes.
- Process Development: Refine PMO processes and governance to meet the evolving needs of the business unit.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an accomplished program leader with deep expertise in program and project management. Ideal candidates will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA or PMP preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in program management or PMO leadership, ideally in robotics, automation, or similar technical industries.
- Proven ability to lead large, complex programs with multiple workstreams.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid program management methodologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting for high-value programs.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, and reporting tools like Power BI.
