Overview

Performs a variety of manual labor duties which assist the maintenance mechanics, working from written or verbal instructions and in accordance with established operating procedures. Willing and able to follow instructions and work with others in learning any craftsperson's trade to which they may be assigned.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Washes and cleans trucks, trailers and other equipment as directed.
Assists in the rearrangement of maintenance materials as assigned.
Assists in the performance of scheduled and nonscheduled maintenance and repair on equipment.
Becomes increasingly familiar with the maintenance, operation and repair for trucks, trailers other equipment.
Completes routine and preventive maintenance inspections.
Communicates with customers, mechanics, and manager about the ongoing condition and status of vehicles and equipment.
Keeps all shop activities customer focused and participate in looking for ways to improve processes, efficiencies and communication.
Becomes familiar with and abide by all applicable safety requirements as related but not limited to shop operations, vehicle and equipment repair and operation, hazardous materials and personal protective equipment.
Performs general housekeeping duties in shop.
Performs clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
Other duties as assigned.
