About the Role:
As the Solid Waste & Recycling Supervisor, you will oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of daily projects at the White Street Landfill (WSL), which includes the municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill and the construction and demolition debris (C&D) landfill. This position requires expertise in standard construction practices, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Information:

Full Salary Range: $60,677.00 - $108,580.00 Annually
Hiring Range: $60,677 - $79,838 (depending on qualifications)

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Non-exempt under FLSA

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, execute, and evaluate daily work projects at WSL and BPTS.
Ensure compliance with DENR rules for Solid and Hazardous Waste, OSHA standards, and City of Greensboro safety standards.
Supervise construction activities at the MSW and C&D landfills.
Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings and plans.
Manage operations in alignment with the City's commitment to equity and innovation.

What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 4 to 6 years of Waste Disposal Environment experience (i.e., Landfill, Transfer Station, Recycle Center, etc)
Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) certification
Valid North Carolina Driver's License (NCDL)
3+ years of Supervisory or management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or similar
CDL Class B Driver's License
City of Greensboro's Foundations of Supervision certificate OR equivalent supervisory coursework training program
Weighmasters License
