About the Role

Develops and maintains Environmental Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures for Everett, Scranton, and Sacramento preclinical sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Partners with EH&S department in Columbia on program responsibilities which may include biosafety, environmental health, hazardous materials, radiation safety, employee safety and occupational health, training, and hazardous waste management.

What You'll do Here

Oversee and manage EH&S including biosafety, environmental health, hazardous materials, radiation safety, employee safety and occupational health, training, and hazardous waste management
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Ensure employees are adhering to safety protocols and procedures to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Investigate and report on any incidents, accidents, or near misses, and implement corrective actions
Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential hazards.
Communicate regularly with management and relevant stakeholders on EHS performance and progress towards goals.
Lead and facilitate safety committees and meetings to promote employee engagement and involvement in EHS initiatives.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve EHS performance.
Oversee and manage EH&S Contractors for biomedical waste, chemical waste. Manage and maintain all necessary EHS documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets

What You'll Need to Succeed

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, or combination of education and experience to fulfill essential job responsibilities., or combination of education and experience to fulfill job duties.
Preferred: Experience in a biomedical research/preclinical environment.
Holds certificate or meets eligibility requirements for Associate Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or other related certification.

What We Offer
The salary range estimated for this position is $84, 570.92 - $112,761. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
