Overview

The Pallet Repair & Recycling Technician can complete minor carpentry repairs on used pallets for reservice, able to operate baler & trash compactor under the direction of the Facilities and Safety Manager. Being able to adapt to new situations and environments is a must. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Pallet Maintenance: Broken boards, damaged stringers, or other faulty components are replaced with new ones. Nails are secure or replaced, loose boards are reattached, and any other necessary fixes are performed.
Performs routine custodial work such as: spot cleaning; removing trash in accordance with established procedures; cleaning, disinfecting facilities.
Continuously assess and monitor the condition of the facility, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, flooring, and walls, and assist the maintenance team in addressing any issues that arise as needed.
Assist with conducting routine and ad-hoc maintenance on essential warehouse equipment, such as carts, roll-up doors, dock plates, pallet jacks, and power trucks, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition.
Regularly inspect and repair warehouse racks as needed, ensuring their structural integrity and safety. Assist with a wide range of maintenance tasks with a high degree of self-reliance and efficiency.
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety to ensure a comfortable and secure workplace for all employees.
Skillfully operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment when required, prioritizing safety and precision in all activities.

Qualifications

Skills & Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 3 months prior experience in maintenance, custodial or tradesmen related field. (preferred)
Working knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a seated position for long periods of time
Standing is to remain on one's feet in an upright position without moving about.
The ability to alternate between sitting and standing is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by schedules breaks and/or lunch period.
Lifting and transporting items that could weigh up to 25 pounds.
Entering text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard.
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work to impart oral information to clients and talent and convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately and quickly.
The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds such as in person and telephone.
Clarity of vision to see computer screens and workspace.
