ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Specialist, Technical Solutions to help spearhead Power Factors' continued growth in the wind, solar, and storage market. As a key team member, you will have the mandate to ensure a smooth client experience from top-of-funnel sales engagements.
Specialist, Technical Solutions is t responsible for engaging with prospects and customers as technical advisors. Specialist is the contact who knows our customers business intimately and understands the unique challenges and aspirations of each of them.
The role is entrepreneurial, cross-functional role that requires multiple skill sets and involves significant interaction and coordination with our prospective customers and Power Factors' internal sales, engineering, product, development, data science, and customer success teams globally.
Specialist plays a strategic role in sales planning and target achievement, facilitating complex technical engagements with our enterprise clients. Will guide our customers, as well as internal stakeholders like Product, Technology, and Customer Success, through a process of rigorous discovery to understand our customers' needs, pain points, and objectives and then present them with the right solution that achieve those objectives and deliver the desired business value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Presales Support:
- Assist the sales team in technical presentations, demos, proof-of-value and RFP responses.
- Aligns technical solutions with business objectives.
- Demonstrates strong sales acumen and the ability to support deals independently.
- Evaluate the feasibility of client requests during the sales process and provide insights on possible solution pathways.
- Work closely with clients to understand their unique business requirements, processes, and technical needs.
- Defines the Solution Scope for each prospect to integrate Power Factors applications with client systems, ensuring smooth data flow and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and technical teams to develop customized proposals for enterprise clients.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on solution deliverables and expectations.
- Technical Leadership:
- Leads technical discussions, presentations, and negotiations with clients.
- Manages large or complex projects and serves as a primary technical point of contact.
- Act as a technical liaison between the client and our product and engineering teams.
- Provide training and support to clients during the implementation process of proofs of value.
- Collect feedback from clients to inform ongoing product development.
- Attend industry events and trade shows and serve as a Power Factors technical brand ambassador
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in renewable energy, SaaS architectures, and related technologies.
- Customer first mindset:
- Partner with the customer stakeholders to ensure smooth and satisfactory buying experience by providing a remarkable customer experience.
- Focus on detail when tailoring the customer facing materials to each prospect.
- Develop customer facing documentation addressed to both non-technical (not IT people) and technical audiences.
Other:
- Manage pre-sales discovery, scope alignment, gap identification, and roadmap commitments
- Coordinate technical components of commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and Request-for-Proposal (RFP) Responses, and secure internal resource commitments
- Deliver sales demos and product presentations, with a keen awareness and deep understanding of the audience's desired outcomes and pain points and how Power Factors addresses them
- Maintain and upgrade various demo environments and tools to showcase Power Factors' full product suite
- Manage product delivery and prospective client engagement during Proofs-of-Value projects
- Visit existing and prospective clients to engender goodwill and better understand the on-the-ground client experience and use cases
- Prepare clients for full onboarding after contract execution and ensure a smooth transition to the Implementation and Customer Success teams
- Assess existing customer architectures, processes, and toolsets to plan technical onboarding and develop cloud-based deployment plans and integration methods that ensure business continuity, documenting any customer-specific requirements and specifications
- Provide technical background and reviews to support marketing material
- Contribute expertise to market-facing briefs and documentation
- Ensure client satisfaction and 100% reference ability
- Work on other projects as required
- Create solutions and solve problems through logical and innovative techniques; take responsibility; drive resolution; execute
- Project management experience using software tools and industry best practices, e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for driving revenue growth, developing effective sales strategies, and delivering exceptional customer experiences, in a fast-changing environment, we encourage you to apply. Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following toolbox:
- Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field, e.g., Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering; Master's degree is considered an asset
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in the renewable energy industry with experience in technical product/project management, business process development, software development, IoT/networking
- Work experience using and configuring Web-based IoT, SaaS, and IPaaS data platforms, including DAS platforms, SCADA systems, enterprise databases and historians, OSIsoft PI, and other cloud platforms, e.g., Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
- Relevant work experience in navigating the renewable energy landscape, including utilities, EPCs, third-party O&M organizations, asset owners, asset managers, and hardware and software vendors
- Demonstrated ability to quickly jump into complex problems and navigate competing priorities to drive solutions using analytical and decision-making skills and priority management
- Excellent, clear, concise written and oral communication skills in English. The ability to present in other languages is considered an important asset
- Ability to connect with all relevant audiences within an organization with the right message and level of detail
- Process-oriented with a growth mindset; ability to perform as an individual contributor and as a project coordinator; as such, you can work autonomously, facilitate teamwork between multiple stakeholders, and escalate as required
- Proven track record of high performance in a fast-paced environment
