Job DescriptionSUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a
Sustainability Specialist that will be responsible for working with multiple project teams to support and educate on sustainability project responsibilities and assist with carbon reduction, management and data collection.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Implement and administer sustainability program at project site(s).
- Assist Design Phase and Preconstruction on project needs to inform estimate and schedule.
- Conduct regional research into low-carbon alternates, waste diversion/management options, water stress and regional materials.
- Conduct project sustainability kickoffs.
- Partner with multiple project stakeholders including, but not limited to, Scope Managers, Trade Partners, Suppliers and Field Leaders for project impacts and data collection.
- Record information in necessary sustainability software including, but not limited to, Green Badger, EC3 and additional online portals.
- Data includes estimated quantities from Mortenson Estimating, Construction progress quantities from Mortenson Project Team and audited As-Built quantities from various parties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into business operations.
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS - Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
- Shown ability to work with multiple stakeholders to collect pertinent information.
- Basic understanding of construction documentation.
- Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
- Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills including, but not limited to, communication, persuasion, problem-solving and teamwork.
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.

The base pay range for this role is $76,800 - $96,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
