Responsibilities: - Understand requirements of environmental contract commitments and ensure compliance
- In conjunction with the GM, communicate with the NPS, State and Federal agencies on a regular basis regarding the site's sustainability program requirements.
- Consistently communicate with General Manager regarding the status of the site's environmental programs and audits
- Lead and oversee waste management and the sustainability of concession operations within
- the park.
- Lead and oversee environmental health and safety including fuel tank management & hazardous materials management.
- Assist in designing, preparing, implementing, and maintaining the environmental management plan
- Lead and coordinate the site's environmental operations to ensure permit renewals and regulatory compliance
- Promote a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
- Ensure alignment with corporate Environmental Manager related to site safety procedures, reporting requirements and audits
Requirements:
- Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient knowledge of safe environmental practices
- Possess thorough knowledge of environmental priorities in the national parks
- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with others.
- Possess a general knowledge of ISO 14046, 14065 and 14001
Knowledge and Experience:Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental sustainability or related field.
Experience: Three (3) or more years in environmental protection and/or research
Resort/National Park experience preferred
