Job DescriptionThe Sustainability Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and program support for WESCO's sustainability program. This position is responsible for developing and supporting efforts to work within and across all departments of the organization to foster partnerships to promote sustainability values, social responsibility and resource conservation. Duties are performed independently under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Global Environmental Management & Sustainability. The position's responsibilities will include implementation and coordination of sustainability practices and programs among the Operation, Sales and Procurement departments. Sustainability programs include energy efficiency, recycling and zero waste initiatives, engagement, and collaborative sustainability-focused projects across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the development, implementation and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and scorecards to ensure accurate internal reporting for WESCO's Responsible Supply Chain Program
- Development and distribution of internal quarterly sustainability newsletter
- Coordinate sustainability training for the procurement team
- Collaborate on the development, implementation and maintenance of WESCO's ENERGY STAR program
- Support data needs for public/private reporting requirements, including to organizations such as CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), GRI (Global Reporting initiatives) and EcoVadis
- Assist in tracking progress towards achievement of corporate sustainability goals
- Work with procurement and sales on our green and sustainable product lines
- Managing own workload to meet deadlines
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
- Associates' Degree (U.S.) - Environmental Sustainability, Economics, or related required
- Bachelors Degree - Environmental Sustainability, Economics or related preferred
- 1-3 years of corporate sustainability program related experience. Can be a combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Must possess the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and be able to build strong relationships with internal and external teams to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience organizing and coordinating projects.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other basic Microsoft applications
- Certificate in Environmental Social Governance (ESG) preferred.
- SASB and TCFD reporting experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Forms, Power BI and Power Automate very helpful.
