13th January, 2025One Tech Engineering is searching for an Environmental Engineer for a position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Environmental Engineer will work on environmental projects and assessments at multiple sites related to Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR).
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 8 to 10 years of experience in civil or environmental engineering.
Environmental Engineer Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments at all facilities to identify the presence of coal ash.
- Determine if coal ash is impacting groundwater, rivers, streams, etc.
- Document findings and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Develop specific projects to address issues identified during the assessment phase.
- Plan substantial civil works required at the sites.
- Manage the execution of projects to remove coal ash and mitigate its impact.
- Ensure all projects comply with EPA or MPCA regulations.
- Manage the project from the assessment phase through to development and execution.
- Interact with project team members and the environmental services group.
- Manage consultants on site, including reviewing submittals and handling the accounting and commercial management of contracts.
- Participate in meetings and collaborating with the supply chain team on contracts as the role develops.
- Conduct weekly visits to facilities to engage with the environmental team and engineers.
- Perform monthly or biweekly visits to other locations for inspections and meetings.
Requirements of the Environmental Engineer: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in civil or environmental engineering.
- Experience with earthwork and environmental compliance, preferably for utilities or consulting firms.
- Experience in project management or commercial management, particularly managing consulting contracts
- Proficiency in basic office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Ability to view and understand technical documentation, with familiarity in repository systems like ProjectWise and Documentum being beneficial.
- Strong collaborative skills, as the position involves working with multiple groups.
- PMP or PE would be nice to have.
- Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
