Description The Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer will support project teams to create world class designs for a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering projects which may include solid waste and resource recovery facilities, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities, stormwater management structures, utility facilities, water/wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities, and other various civil site and stormwater design projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead tasks/projects, perform assistant project management duties, and interact with clients. Duties of the Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer may include:
- Performing design of facilities from the conceptual phase through design completion and construction.
- Working with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans, designs, production drawings and specifications according to budget constraints, regulatory requirements, or client needs.
- Researching and compiling of project-related data as required by the project managers.
- Preparing reports, studies, and cost estimates to help clients evaluate options and provide solutions.
- Support and lead civil and environmental permitting efforts.
- Assistant project management duties such as developing and executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.
- Provide construction phase support services and preparation of construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.
- Training / mentoring of staff.
- Developing new and maintaining existing client and regulatory relationships.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil or environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred) required; or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred) required; or Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering and 2 years of environmental or civil engineering experience (consulting preferred) required.
- FE, EIT, or PE Preferred.
- Available for travel as necessary (approximately 15% travel).
- Strong knowledge in standard civil and environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, and other programs).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation $95,000.00-135,000.00 Annually
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
