Job Summary
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and executing the Corporate and Site EHS strategies. Identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Establishing and maintaining programs that promote a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment. The position is accountable for coordinating the activities required to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and corporate regulations related to Health, Safety, and Welfare of Acuity brands Lighting, Inc. employees. Coordinates the development of programs, procedures, systems, and training to ensure understanding and adherence to the subject procedures and regulations.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies by participating in the planning and implementation at the site level
Governance compliance management (Safety, health & environment)
Emergency Response management, maintains close contact and support for the shop floor leaders as during Emergency events
Implement Hazardous & Nonhazardous Waste tracking and deployment of corporate strategy to reduce environmental impacts
Participate in the development of site level activities to strengthen Associate & Community Engagement
Develop, review, update and ensure execution of EHS Annual Programs (trainings, safety, and health programs)
Ensure all EHS related topics are documented and addressed using MOC tool for all New Process, Projects, or Equipment
Attend corporate audit, internal cross audits, and government audits/visits.
Near miss and Incidents management- analysis, and plan to avoid recurrence and achieve reduction goals
Share data, reports and improvements required for Focus Factories-Work closely with Factory Managers and provide guidance and support as needed
Lead, develop, and manage EHS assigned team members
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related discipline is required
ASP, CSP, CIH or other recognized Certification related to EHS is preferred
Five to Seven years of related experience in a Manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations for General Industry
Experience in use of Problem-solving skills and leading Incident Investigations
High degree of comfort with computer usage and software (Microsoft products)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business journals, procedures, and government regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from department personnel
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
