Summary of PositionThe Fine Wood Working Faculty is a full-time, 9-month/164-day position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching 15 credits each fall and spring semester.Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, computer-aided, distance learning, self-paced, and interdisciplinary. Faculty may need to teach at any RRCC campus and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends).
The faculty member develops and evaluates curricula, ensures program alignment with community needs and regulatory requirements, participates in assessment activities,documents curriculum changes based on assessments, implements retention strategies, and integrates technology into coursework. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining office hours, assisting with departmental duties, providing academic advising to students, participating in college events, serving on committees, and representing the college in the community. Professional development is a key component of the role, with opportunities for growth to support both teaching and service functions aligned with the college's goals.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Woodworking, Fine Arts or a closely related field from an accredited institution AND has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 2000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 4000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years.
- **Current teachers applying to teach RRCC campus-based, online, or concurrent enrollment CTE courses may included on teaching occupational hours that are older than the 7-year requirement if they have the required degree (and license/certifications as listed) and a minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience in the discipline/program or 6 years part-time teaching experience in the discipline/program.
- Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications - Extensive experience in fine woodworking, with a strong background in both traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques.
- Proficiency in CNC technology, including programming, operation, and integration of CNC equipment into woodworking projects.
- Knowledge and practical experience in the construction, design, and repair of stringed instruments (lutherie), with an emphasis on acoustic and electric instruments.

- This position operates in a classroom/workshop and office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Advertised Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $58,261 to $74,328, commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 164 contract days. The projected start date for this position is August 2025. This is a full-time, 9-month, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. Faculty may have the option to teach additional course overloads in accordance with college policies and procedures for additional compensation.
