Job SummaryThe summer intern will help develop methods for analytical instrumentation in our Analytical R&D lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Review and research project background and status with mentor
- Develop/validate method using gas and liquid chromatography and other analytical techniques
- Conduct analytical evaluations and quantification
- Make novel observations
- Collect and interpret data
- Draw sound conclusions based on data analysis
- Summarize work and write SOPs
- Present project reviews before colleagues and peers
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP's, ASTM's, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Hands-on experience with separation techniques is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage several projects at one time
- A junior or senior enrolled in an accredited four-year institution
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required
- Major in chemistry, polymer science or materials science
- Previous internship experience a plus
