We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a
Staff Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist 2 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This position requires significant travel to job sites and extensive work outside the office, involving site and subsurface characterization for environmental projects, as well as monitoring contractors' environmental activities during remediation. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will:- Work on assignments that require a portion of time conducting field activities for environmental projects, followed by office work to provide client deliverables.
- Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface explorations, and identify important site features.
- Conduct on-site monitoring/ observation of contractor environmental related construction activities.
- Monitor subsurface exploration activities (e.g., test borings, geoprobes, test pits, and groundwater well installations) to collect soil, bedrock, groundwater, and other pertinent information.
- Conduct soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with applicable ASTM standards, company standard procedures, and other industry standard guidelines.
- Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
- Compile, reduce, analyze, manage, and report field, instrumentation, geological, and/or environmental data using spreadsheets and other tools.
- Use various environmental instrumentation and equipment during field work.
- Perform historical site review and review applicable regulations, as appropriate.
- Prepare written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables.
- Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site. Participate in site safety briefings and audits by both clients and Haley & Aldrich.
- Comply with the guiding principles and code of behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
- Comply with company and client health & safety protocols.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE- B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or other related discipline.
- 3-8 years of professional services consulting experience that includes field implementation of environmental characterization and remediation activities, soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling, evaluation of environmental data, and presentation of technical data and interpretations in a variety of written and oral formats.
- Ability to direct subcontractors and ensure compliance with prepared work and safety plans.
- Has or will apply for initial professional certification in their core discipline, where applicable, such as EIT or GIT.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Office software.
- Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the Southeastern U.S.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hr. Construction Site Safety training preferred.
