As the 'Program Manager - Sustainability' for the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that help us to achieve Amazon's sustainability and Net Zero Carbon goals. This leader will need to work cross-functionally with many different stakeholders to integrate sustainability concepts into the delivery and operations of existing and new products and services.
This opportunity requires strong knowledge of Scope 3 emissions, sustainable design and construction, an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and project management skills as well as the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, technical environment. At the core of the position is being a self-starter, an analytical aptitude, and the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• \tWork with diverse stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and measures to reduce, measure, and report carbon reduction strategies in support of Net Zero Carbon,
• \tProvide Category Managers with technical information about embodied carbon reduction within specific procurement categories,
• \tCollaborate with stakeholders and category managers to identify cost effective strategies for improving sustainability in the construction and operations of Amazon buildings,
• \tEducate suppliers, stakeholders, and Category Managers about Amazon's sustainability goals,
• \tAssist Category Managers to understand and implement carbon reporting across GPO Procurement categories,
• \tManage multiple, complex projects simultaneously,
• \tBuild relationships with external suppliers and partners, and with internal stakeholders,
• \tSupport Net Zero Carbon (NZC) Design projects,
• \tSupport Category Managers in procuring bill of materials and Environmental Product Declarations in bid/new builds,
• \tAssist in developing contract terms for low carbon building materials such as concrete, steel with recycled content, and other materials.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
