About the Role:We are seeking a skilled woodworker with a passion for craftsmanship to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of woodworking techniques and an eye for design. You will be responsible for transforming raw materials into aesthetically pleasing furniture pieces. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in identifying quality issues and performing repairs and refinishes ensuring that each piece meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
We are flexible with part-time or full-time availability.
Minimum Qualifications:- Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in woodworking
- Experienced in building and producing custom fixtures and furniture
- Proficient in woodworking tools, techniques, and shop operations
- Proficiency in furniture cosmetic fixes including: sanding, painting, staining, touch ups and general maintenance tasks
- Highly skilled at operating table saws, chop saw, routers, power tools, hand tools, etc.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:- Build custom wood furniture, from start to finish,
- Measure, cut, and shape wood pieces according to specifications
- Assemble wood components using hand tools and power tools
- Thoroughly read through orders and analyze what tools/hardware will be needed to complete the job
- Perform cosmetic repairs on various furniture pieces (wood & metals)
- Conduct sanding and prepping of surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of finishes
- Document and communicate with manager any non-repairable items.
- Collaborate with inventory team to prioritize maintenance projects and effectively communicate project status
- Ensure the shop area is clean, organized and secure
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory/tool storage area
Physical Demands:- Exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 -50 lbs. force frequently and/or 10 to 20lbs. of force constantly.
- Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Light Work
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and sitting
- Recurrent climbing, balancing, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and handling
- The job is performed primarily indoors in a warehouse setting
