Main responsibilities will be assisting with environmental permitting associated primarily with large scale infrastructure projects. Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Berlin, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and drainage design for transportation and infrastructure projects. Candidate should have experience with one or more of the following: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Pondpack, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Storm Sewers.
Experience with CADD programs such a AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads is also desired.
Experience with design and plan production within MicroStation is preferred.As a Water Resources Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and analyzing water-related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and contributing to sustainable engineering solutions. Responsibilities:- Stormwater Management & Drainage Design: Develop design of stormwater managementBMPs, drainage systems, and erosion control measures for transportation and site development projects.
- Hydrologic & Hydraulic Analysis: Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for floodplain analysis, culvert and bridge design, and watershed management.
- Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Prepare reports and calculations to ensure compliance with NJDEP, NJTA, NJDOT, and other local, county, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Technical Report Preparation: Develop engineering reports, design documents, and construction plans using CAD software, with a preference for MicroStation.
- Collaboration & Project Support: Manage design tasks and work closely with project managers, multidisciplinary teams, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Provide guidance to junior staff and technical training for various water resources related tasks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, including stormwater management and drainage design.
- Certifications: EIT required. PE preferred, or working towards acquiring PE license in the next 6-12 months.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Pondpack, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Storm Sewers). Proficient in writing and ztechnical reports.
- Software Knowledge: Experience with MicroStation (preferred) or other CAD software for design, modeling and drafting.
- Regulatory Understanding: Familiarity with NJDEP stormwater and flood hazard area regulations, NJTA and NJDOT drainage design standards, and FEMA floodplain management guidelines.
