What you will do:Safety Management- Develop and enforce workplace safety programs to meet OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other key regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to eliminate hazards before they become incidents.
- Lead employee safety training on best practices, emergency preparedness, and injury prevention.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze risk factors and create strategies to minimize potential liabilities.
- Work closely with store managers to improve safety procedures, from chemical storage to equipment handling.
- Support claims management in collaboration with administrators and insurance providers.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports on workplace incidents and trends.
Environmental Compliance- Ensure compliance with California's environmental regulations, including waste management, hazardous material handling, and air quality standards.
- Monitor compliance with sustainability initiatives and provide insights to leadership.
- Monitor new legislation as it relates to environmental and safety compliance and update policies accordingly.
- Conduct environmental audits on waste disposal, recycling, and storage practices.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure environmentally responsible operations.
- Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections, keeping documentation audit-ready.
- Provide key environmental and safety compliance reports to leadership.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university.
- 5-8 years of experience in safety, environmental compliance, or risk management, preferably in the retail or grocery industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and California environmental laws and regulations.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): CSP, CHMM, or equivalent.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and incident management systems.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
