System One is seeking experienced Civil/Structural Design Modification Engineers to support nuclear power plant evaluation, design, and modification projects. This role offers remote work flexibility, with the option for onsite work in Naperville, IL, or Atlanta, GA. Candidates must have commercial nuclear industry experience and a strong background in civil/structural engineering, analysis, and modifications for power generation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
? Design & Analysis: Perform structural design and analysis of concrete, steel structures, heavy load components, and equipment supports, including seismic analysis and response spectra evaluation.
? Finite Element Modeling: Develop 3D analytical models using FEA software to assess structural integrity and performance.
? Engineering Documentation: Create and review construction drawings, specifications, design computations, and reports.
? Cross-Discipline Coordination: Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams, utilities, and municipalities to ensure project success.
? Site Support & As-Built Documentation: Conduct field walkdowns, installation support, and verification of design modifications.
? Project Management: Maintain cost, schedule, and budget control for assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
? 2-5 years of experience in civil/structural design & modifications within the nuclear industry.
? Expertise in engineering-based software such as Mathcad, Matlab, STAAD, RISA-3D, or equivalent FEA tools.
? Strong technical writing & communication skills to support project documentation and collaboration.
? Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining coordination with onsite teams.
