We are seeking an experienced
Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead initiatives ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability across our multi-plant operations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable compliance experience including knowledge of state and federal laws, leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Reporting to the Manager of R&D and Quality Assurance, this is a full-time position located at our scenic campus, 20 minutes North of Pittsburgh International Airport.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance - Oversee and maintain compliance with state, federal, and local environmental regulations, ensuring permits and reporting are current.
- Plan and manage environmental compliance and risk management strategies.
- Maintain and manage the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system and approved chemical lists.
- Advise internal teams on chemical restrictions and compliance with state regulations.
Safety Management - Ensure compliance with OSHA and other health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement occupational safety and health programs, including accident prevention strategies.
- Lead the certified workplace safety committee and maintain compliance with PA state regulations to secure workers' compensation discounts.
- Ensure accident investigations are performed, and preventive actions are implemented and oversee emergency preparedness programs.
- Partner with insurance providers to perform industrial hygiene testing and noise monitoring.
Training and Development - Develop and coordinate EH&S training programs for employees across all locations.
- Ensure emergency procedures are in place and effectively communicated.
- Lead safety education initiatives and reinforce best practices across teams.
Collaboration and Communication - Act as the primary liaison with external environmental and OSHA consultants.
- Work closely with departments such as sales, manufacturing, R&D, HR, quality, purchasing, and technical service to integrate EH&S initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on environmental compliance, personnel safety, and proper procedures.
Expertise - Coach, manage, and develop the associates involved in EH&S activities.
- Manage the EH&S budget and contribute to strategic planning for continuous improvement.
Experience and Skills- 3+ years of practical experience in EH&S, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and project management is desired.
- Proficiency in OSHA, EPA, NFPA, SARA III, Worker's Compensation regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, independent judgment, and project execution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel up to 25%; valid driver's license required.
