SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities- Conduct ecological evaluations and impact assessments for disaster-affected areas, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide expert analysis and recommendations for ecosystem restoration and preservation efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ecological considerations into disaster recovery strategies.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage documentation and maintain transparency in environmental compliance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, including ecological findings, project plans, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Stay current with FEMA's training requirements and environmental policies.
Requirements- Education & Experience:
- Master's degree or higher in Ecology or a related science from an accredited college or university.
- At least 2 years of full-time professional experience post-degree or 5 years of professional experience in addition to the education requirement for Associate Ecologist certification.
- Certified Ecologist (CE) certification required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- Strong knowledge of ecological principles, environmental regulations, and restoration techniques.
- Proficiency in ecological assessment tools and software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
