JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for personnel administration and management of the assigned, high profile Security Organization and in accordance with Client Contract specifications. This includes client service, problem resolution, service enhancement and expansion, operational effectiveness, preparation of post orders, staffing, scheduling, supervision and training. Additionally, the manager will receive functional guidance from the Client Security Manager regarding the security program and must ensure the Security Organization adheres to security rules and regulations as well as site security plans, procedures and policies.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Provides lead direction to security staff and performs other duties of a more responsible and demanding level as defined by client contract. Does not perform Security Officer duties except on a limited, relief or emergency basis.

G E N E R A L D U T I E S & R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service; meets with client and employees on a frequent basis to establish effective working relationships and address any actual or potential problems. Reviews current security procedures in order to assure the Security Organization conforms to requirements; advises plant management of incidents and matters concerning the Security Organization which may affect plant security. Stays abreast of any development within or outside the plant which may affect security. Works in conjunction with the Client Security Manager in any matters requiring preliminary investigation or program development or enhancement. Promptly reports and takes proper actions on any member of the Security Organization who has failed to participate in the prescribed training or who has failed to achieve the required standards. Carries out supervisory duties, as assigned and in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws, that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making hiring and termination recommendations. Conducts all supervisory responsibilities in a manner which encourages assigned personnel to maintain professional demeanor, high morale, superior appearance, and integrity. Foster an environment which encourages concerns to be identified, and then address the concern. Resolves personnel conflicts and complaints in a timely manner, notifying management of actions. Administers the Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources and other administrative processes for the respective location. Implements manpower needs within the Security Organization as determined and approved by the Client Security Manager. Ensures delivery of accurate and timely payroll and client billing processes. Counsels and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management resources as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions. Makes disciplinary or termination recommendations, as appropriate. Monitors and addresses any fitness-for-duty issues. Ensures attention to duty from security personnel and initiate prompt action to prevent or minimize losses, accidents, fires, property damage, safety hazards, and security violations. Evaluates the performance of assigned Security personnel. Coaches and assists subordinates in developing leadership skills and in identifying and strengthening identified weaknesses. Reports discrepancies/problems to site management. Takes immediate action to correct any noted concerns or allegations and advises Security Manager of actions taken. Conducts all responsibilities in a manner which reflects positively on the Company, Client and Union body (as applicable). Complies with all Paragon, Client and Government regulations, policies and procedures to include the collective bargaining agreement. Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business, service and compliance objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position
Basic Qualifications - US citizenship preferred
- At least 18 years of age Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager or phone).
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Education/Experience- Associate degree is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years security related experience, with at least 12 months supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the Company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
