Duties - You will be responsible for providing engineering expertise for various aspects of Nuclear Maintenance and Repair.
- You will direct, control, monitor, interpret and seek resolution on all matters pertaining to the effective conduct of production and engineering practices in the assigned area of responsibility (AOR).
- You will provide guidance and technical expertise for development of nuclear maintenance Technical Work Documents (TWDS) and overall job planning and execution.
- You will develop, recommend, and initiate actions to improve nuclear maintenance at NRMD-KB in areas of training, process knowledge, and TWD development.
- You will represent NRMD-KB as Technical Expert at meetings between NRMD-KB, Ship's Force, NRO, Squardon-16/20, and other positions at NRMD-KB.
- You will exercise judgment in the selection, interpretation, adaption, and application of requirements in the development and execution of nuclear maintenance.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the
GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience planning and executing complex projects, resolving highly complex technical issues, and integrating the work of several support organizations to meet schedule dates.
- Experience providing expert advice and innovative recommendations to colleagues, senior shipyard managers, NAVSEA, government agencies/activities, and contractors.
- Experience applying engineering concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques related to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of a nuclear-powered naval vessels, support and auxiliary systems and support facilities.
- Experience directing the technical efforts of junior engineers and technicians in their performance of work on projects to which they are assigned, and being able to resolve, or, where required, alert additional supervisory authority of technical or administrative problems encountered.
- Experience interpreting NAVSEA Technical Manuals, NAVSEA Drawings, CNPMs, NPMs, Federal laws, regulations, policy statements, and other material governing nuclear maintenance job development and execution.
- Experience reviewing and providing technical expertise on TWDs developed by NRMD-KB Engineering Department.
