We are currently seeking an entry-to-mid level Landscape Architect/Designer to be a part of our multi-disciplinary team, bringing projects to life from concept development through construction.
As a Landscape Architect/Designer in the Healthy Communities Group, you will be responsible for contributing to the design of spaces including complete streets, plazas, parks, roadways, campuses, and trails. Daily activities will include the production of CADD drawings, plan view renderings, illustrative cross sections, report layout, writing, and graphic design for public facing materials. You will work from our Baltimore Inner Harbor office alongside our local team of planners, landscape architects, and engineers while collaborating on projects with our teammates across offices in 14 states.
Essential Function- Prepare site studies and reports, master plans, streetscape concepts, planting plans
- Document layout and production, photo simulations, renderings, concept design, producing construction docs, drawing details
- Write and prepare project specifications
- Prepare construction cost estimates
- Craft compelling graphics (page layout, illustrative sections, photo simulations, plan renderings)
- Coordinate with GIS team to craft compelling maps and diagrams
- Communicate clearly and effectively at public input events (virtually and in-person)
- Support project managers with meetings, material development, meeting summaries, and final deliverables
Required Skills and Experience- 3-7 years' experience performing landscape architecture for healthy communities and active transportation projects for Federal, State, County, Municipal projects. This is not residential work.
- Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, Adobe Creative Suites, and GIS
- Experience and knowledge of Maryland (and surrounding state) guidelines for approved plant species, stormwater design, and ROW
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and engage with the public
- Must have an active portfolio and/or work samples for review
- Familiarity with bicycle, pedestrian, and trail design guidelines and best practices
- Active in local agencies and organizations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Experience- Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Registered Landscape Architect, AICP or related
- Familiarity with wayfinding
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modeling software
- Proficiency with Lumion or other rendering software
- Experience with ArcGIS
