This position is expected to start May 2025 and continue through the entire Summer 2025 term (through August/September 2025). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks at 40 hours per week, for this internship.

Responsibilities The Solar Service Engineering team is responsible for monitoring energy production across our solar fleet, flagging systems that may be underperforming our estimates, and investigating them to identify the likely cause. We work hand-in-hand with the Service organization to ensure we can keep all of our systems running optimally for the full life of the products we sell. As our fleet continues to grow and age, we are constantly looking for approaches to improve our detection of real, actionable events and avoid unnecessary work on normal, weather-sensitive effects.
- Review system telemetry data to determine which sites are not meeting our energy targets
- Run fleet-wide scans to quantify the impact of specific modes of under-performance
- Update existing Python codebase improve the accuracy of our customer-facing system notifications
- Work with product design, system design, and field service teams to resolve performance issues not addressed with existing troubleshooting guidance
Requirements - Currently working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical engineering or relevant program, or equivalent practical experience in product development, reliability engineering, failure analysis, systems test engineering, product quality, or service engineering
- Experience using Python or equivalent for data analysis on very large databases
- Experience with developing, managing or maintaining equipment running Linux based applications
- Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition, applied to firmware/software-enabled systems
- Remain engaged, proactive, and positive while solving very challenging problems

$30.00 - $45.00 + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
