Landscape Architect II!
Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Preparing master plans of all City facilities and master plans of existing facilities as needed;
- Conducting field trips to project sites and studying the best use of land and placement of facilities for their most effective use in relation site conditions;
- Preparing schematic and final master plans for facilities and laying out structures, roads, parking and picnic areas, recreational facilities, etc;
- Reviewing proposed master plans with the various divisions, branches and sections within the Department of Design and Construction as well as all other appropriate Departments and/or governmental agencies;
- Coordinating and reviewing master plans of projects with various public and private agencies affected by the project;
- Managing and coordinating consultant contracts for master plans, landscape plans and feasibility studies;
- Preparing necessary contract documents and correspondence for such professional services and overseeing and coordinating these services assisted by the Consultant with all agencies affected by the project;
- Preparing detailed plans and designs of new construction or renovation of City facilities as well as making field studies and preparing detailed planning plans, grading plans and drainage plans;
- Preparing landscape plans for beautification projects, inspecting construction and renovation work, and preparing presentations on master plans and landscape plans to civic groups and other public forums/meetings;
- Preparing a variety of reports and correspondence on planning of parks and other facilities;
- Performing other related duties as required.
Special Work Conditions: Work schedule is from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., with varying days off depending on work needs. May be required to work weekends, nights and holidays based on operational needs.
