Position Overview Nevados is developing a suite of control system devices and software products that enable the reliable operation of our trackers. As part of the Controls team, the Sr. Electronics Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the manufacturing of our existing control system devices, as well as be a key team member for new product introduction. Your focus will be on maintaining close contact with our suppliers, making continuous improvements to our processes, and ensuring new products launch successfully. This position will collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team and our suppliers domestic and abroad.
This position reports to the Director of Engineering, Embedded Systems.
While Nevados is a remote-first company , the Embedded Controls team is required to work at least 50% of the time at the Nevados headquarters in Oakland, CA Candidates are also expected to travel up to 20% to attend company off-sites (4x/year) and visit suppliers, test sites, and customer sites is required.
Responsibilities- Product Lifecycle Management
- Control System Manufacturing Oversight
- Manufacturing process development, fixture design and line bring-up
- Interface with contract manufacturing partners during new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing
Required Qualifications- 4+ years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role, or equivalent.
- Experience bringing hardware products from concept to mass production
- Experience managing EMS
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong understanding of design optimization for supply chain, cost, and assembly considerations (DFX)
- Production test fixture requirement capture experience
- Ability to manage progress on multiple initiatives in parallel
- Experience working with suppliers and supply chain teams
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- PLM and documentation control experience
- Experience with electronics manufacturing and processes
Desired Qualifications- Experience with Arena PLM
- Experience with GD&T standards
- Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with hardware product compliance (UL, IEC, etc.)
- Familiarity with QMS
- Familiarity with git
- Knowledge of mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks, etc)
- Fixture design
$130,000 - $170,000 a year
These ranges indicate base salary. See more regarding total compensation packages below. Actual compensation will be determined based on candidate experience, skillset, and location.
