JOB TITLE: Professor of Practice (Open Rank)
JOB PURPOSE: The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming (UW) seeks outstanding applicants for Professor of Practice position, effective August 2024. The successful candidate is expected to teach, develop new courses, and conduct research in the areas related to Petroleum Engineering and Subsurface Energy Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related field, demonstrated excellence in industry work, and a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. We seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence with a commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance the work of the department and attract and retain a diverse student body.
The successful candidate is expected to respond to the challenges of the next generation oil and gas industry and the various Subsurface Energy Engineering, which is of high demand in the current industry.
Rank and salary will be determined based on relevant experience.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - PhD in a relevant discipline
- 10 + years of demonstrated experience of working with relevant industry
- Commitment to interdisciplinary research and education
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in industrial applications
- Higher education teaching experience
- Grant writing experience
