This role is for a Wind Performance Testing Engineer, including client-facing development and sales
requiring deep technical understanding of IEC 61400-12 accredited performance analysis of wind
turbine generators. The Wind Performance Test Engineer reports directly to the Manager of Wind
Performance Services, who in turn reports to the Director of Wind Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
• Successful planning and execution of power performance tests per IEC Standards though
effective project management, technical oversight, and assurance of customer satisfaction
• Evaluating new measurement and analysis methods for continuous improvement
• Installation of wind and power measurement equipment at client sites and selection,
supervision, and management of installation sub-contractors
• Preparing proposals and budgets for power performance tests and other technical services
adherent to ArcVera's best practices to meet client requirements and required timelines
• Pricing work according to market rates while providing high quality work product
• Business development within emerging and established global markets related to
performance testing and other technical services as offered by ArcVera
• Strong client relationships through frequent, prompt, and accurate communication
• Promoting company products/services that maximize client satisfaction
• Participation in industry-wide technical discussions internationally including IEC
committees and conference presentations
Requirements
• Advanced Degree in Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Physics, or a related field
• Language: Professional fluency in English (CEFR B2/C1), other languages helpful
• Knowledge of wind and power data analysis and statistics (i.e. uncertainty evaluation)
• Ability to climb wind turbines and work at heights - GWO climb certification preferred
• Field work (sometimes international) requiring a strong commitment to safety
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - with an ability to build relationships
• A professional work ethic which excels both independently and in teams, with a strong
sense of ownership, effective time management, and a passion for problem-solving
Key Performance Indicators:
• Delivery of on-time analysis products and reports with minimal/near-zero errors
• Achieve designated monthly and annual productivity targets for client and overhead time• Development of analysis methods and tools to advance team capabilities / competencie• Demonstrated ability to engage in complex tasks with improving efficiency
• Adherence to stated individual performance goals on annual basis
• After ramp up, 65% client billable work hours per week
