DescriptionThe ReVision Energy Solar Designer is responsible for providing creative technical solutions to optimize commercial solar installations in a collaborative team environment.
The Solar Designer is accountable for all technical and design work for a ReVision Energy project from conceptual design until final completion. The Solar Designer is responsible for optimizing multiple design inputs including customer goals, site constraints and product specifications to generate best in class solar system designs. This role is responsible for the development, documentation and creation of system design deliverables to construct a high performing solar system.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Commercial Sales Team in creating site layouts and preliminary cost estimates
- Create energy models for commercial scale solar arrays utilizing Helioscope and/or PVsyst.
- Create design layouts, single line diagrams and other electrical schematics for commercial scale solar arrays utilizing AutoCAD.
- Ensure design compliance with applicable codes and company design standards with engineering oversight.
- Prepare drawings for various stakeholders (client, AHJs, and sub-contractors) and project stages including utility interconnection, permitting, construction and record drawings.
- Collaborate with ReVision Development Team, Civil Engineers, Surveyors and other stakeholder to assist with technical guidance and refine project design.
- Collaborate with Preconstruction and Project Management team to provide design support prior to and during construction.
- Occasional travel for both office meetings and field visits to active construction sites
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field from an accredited university
- 5+ years' experience in design and/or operations of commercial photovoltaic systems
- AutoCAD mastery
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Helioscope and PVsyst software mastery
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional or PV Design Specialist Certification (or equivalent)
- Estimating and project budget experience
Desired Skills/Attributes- Knowledge of electrical principles
