Job Description:
Indorama Ventures is currently looking to hire a Summer 2025 Chemical Engineer Intern. Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internships run from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Indorama Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.
Under close supervision, intern will be responsible for providing technical support to assigned area(s). After initial orientation, intern will be assigned to Production Engineering or Process Engineering in continuous production units, batch process or utilities.
What will be expected from you? - At the end of the internship, the intern is required to give a project assignments presentation to the Site Leadership Team.
- Support engineers in performance of assignments, both project and day-to-day workings of engineering
- Provide status updates to mentor/engineer on project assignments.
- Under management supervision, ensure that activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?- Must be a full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level by the end of Spring 2025, currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
- 3.0 GPA or higher required
- Must be authorized to work in U.S. and not require work authorization sponsorship for this position or in the future.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card. Please visit https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic for information on TWIC.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to solve complex problems and identify the appropriate resources.
- Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
- Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Must be willing to commit to the summer program for the entire 10-week program.
