DescriptionThe RoleWe are seeking a passionate Principal Consultant to join our Sustainability Consulting team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering advisory programs for our global client base and will operate as a subject matter expert in delivery and innovation.
The person in this role will have the opportunity to build strong client relationships and shape sustainability strategies for numerous Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, while helping to grow the Incendium team.
What will you be doing?Client Relationship Management- Establish strong, trust-based relationships with clients, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor.
Project Management- Programme management of key client instructions, supporting development and implementation of client sustainability strategies across varied organisations and sectors, ensuring deliverables are met within scope, budget, and timelines.
Strategic Support- Collaborate with clients to develop ambitions, targets and strategic roadmaps that align with their business objectives
Organisational Strategy- Design and support implementation of strategic organisational changes, addressing business processes, stakeholder engagement, and governance to support evolving ambitions
Data & Reporting- Oversight of strategic data insights and reporting outputs, aligning with frameworks such as SBTi, CDP & TCFD
Business Growth- Support the growth of the Incendium business through building client relationships, building our team and championing the Incendium culture and ways of working

- Ideally, you will be based on the East Coast or Central region
- Sustainability strategy experience - thriving in a strategic sustainability team environment either as a consultant or client side, with experience of designing & operationalising sustainability in business strategies
- Experience working within a real estate consulting business is beneficial so you can quickly link up our wider organisation across Incendium and The Instant Group.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables, team cohesiveness and client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, adapting strategies as needed to meet client needs and industry trends.
- Experience using communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, build rapport, and foster teamwork.
- Experience interpreting complex data to deliver actionable insights.
- Bachelor's degree in a sustainability-related subject is of interest but not a necessity. A Master's degree is a plus.
- At Incendium we do not define experience and skills in years, so purely as a guide as we often get asked, our Principal Consultants typically have at least 5 years of experience in a similar environment.
