Objective of the Job: This position is an industrial electrician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment in the Melt Shop area of Big River Steel facility. Objective of the Job This position is a liaison between the customer and the mill. Responsible for explaining customer expectations to the mill as well as mill capabilities to the customer. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed. Conducts pre-production application engineering and specifications review. Ensures timely and accurate part set-up and part approvals in accordance with purchase orders and customer specific requirements. Carries out the assigned duties of a Team Member to support Project Management and maintains customer specific requirements in Project Management as appropriate. Responsible for all customer technical material referrals. Responsible for managing material claims process, including but not limited to: customer communications, investigations, containment, CCAR initiation, reporting quality alerts, customer feedback through the CFR system, application or removal of material as required, and assist customers with alternate applications or process improvement methods. Provide mill operations with a thorough understanding of customer products and expectations. Provide technical, engineering, product, and quality assurance support to mill customers. This individual will have the primary responsibility of preparing and testing specimens using metallographic sample prep and metallographic testing equipment that provide root cause analysis data, characterization data for steel grade development, as well as supporting the stage gate qualification testing process for customer approval of new products or process paths. This individual must demonstrate the ability to use continuous improvement methodologies via the World Class Organization (WCO) that benefit their core area of responsibility, as well as the entire organization.
