Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Environmental & Sustainability Engineer is responsible for supporting the company's overall Environmental compliance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts. This position works closely with the Manager of Environmental & Sustainability to ensure compliance and improve environmental performance.
Key Position Results: - Environmental compliance with applicable regulations
- Accurate environmental metrics and GHG accounting in the required timeframe
- Analysis and communication of environmental performance data
- Continuous improvement toward company goals for environmental performance
Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Provide technical support on environmental regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Regional EHS Managers to ensure compliance
- Aid in growing the Environmental knowledge of EHS personnel
- Ownership of Disposal Vendor Compliance Program
- Support Product Compliance Program
- Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data
- Ability to validate water and GHG calculations; GHG librarian
- Stay up to date on emerging ESG issues
- Facilitate completion of annual ESG Disclosures and annual CSR Report
- Track and provide analysis for customer ESG requests, engage with customers
- Leverage ISO 14001 Environmental Management System to minimize Environmental footprint
- Compile data for presentation in various formats
- Other administrative and clerical tasks
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: - Understanding of Environmental regulations
- Basic knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and platforms
- Data collection and analysis
- Problem solving, can figure out how to get the information we need to know
- Proficiency in technical aspects of Environmental & Sustainability reporting software
- Sound interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish working relationships at multiple levels of the organization quickly
- Comfortable performing a wide range of responsibilities, from thinking broadly to executing detailed tasks
- A well-organized, systematic approach to work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a positive personality
Software Used: - Microsoft Office Programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- Environmental (GHG) Reporting Software Platform
Education / Experience: - Environmental and/or Sustainability degree, or related Engineering / Science degree
- One to three years manufacturing experience
