SUMMARYThe Operations Manager is responsible for their assigned department's overall operations to ensure goals and objectives are achieved, while improving efficiencies and encouraging professional growth of the employees under their management.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of skills and experience
- 2+ years of management experience or leading teams
- Knowledge of business accounting and P&L statements
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Strong in decision making and problem solving
- In-depth knowledge of the industry
- Team player with a growth mindset
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card required
- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to drive company vehicles required
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, by ground or air, including overnight travel, required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to move and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds
- Must have the ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Exemplify our five core values (Safety, Others, Integrity, Initiative, and Passion)
- Own and manage department's P&L to ensure that all financial and performance goals are met or exceeded
- Oversee and manage the daily operations and annual budget of department
- Manage and oversee weekly meeting agendas for sales and operations
- Manage sales activity and sales goals
- Monitor sales tracking and job profitability
- Develop strategic plans and create efficiencies that optimize productivity
- Perform administrative, human resources, payroll, and accounting responsibilities to support department's operations
- Manage subcontractors and required documentation
- Conduct quality control inspections of customer sites and subcontractor work
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a safety culture and compliance and stay up to date on OHSA, DOT, and other applicable rules and regulations
- Lead safety, production, and L-10 meetings, and attend company meetings as requested
- Manage fuel costs, chemical usage, uniforms, and inventory
- Maintain the facilities, fleet, and all equipment, including technology devices
- Manage licenses, medical cards, and other certifications for team members
- Determine staffing needs and oversee the hiring and selection process
- Provide effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, performance reviews, and disciplinary action
- Build and maintain a strong team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building
- Encourage and provide career development planning and opportunities to team members
- Build future leaders through mentoring and succession planning
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and communication
- Respond to employee concerns in a timely manner
- Understand and enforce all company policies, including safety, human resources, and accounting policies
- Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions, when needed
- Maintain communication with corporate, as needed, and provide requested reports
- Perform the duties of a Project Manager, as needed
