Job Description The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is searching for an Administrative Assistant to provide high-level administrative support within the Catalytic Carbon Transformation and Scale-up Center. The center works in the area of heterogeneous catalysis for conversion of renewable (e.g., biomass) and waste (e.g., CO2) carbon sources to enable efficient, low-carbon pathways for creating fuels, materials, and chemicals. The center also focuses on biorefinery integration, scale-up, and economic analysis of bioenergy pathways. The successful candidate will support the Economic, Sustainability, and Market Analysis team, and will also support other Business Support team members in their absence and on an as-needed basis. This position can be fast paced and dynamic. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills are critical to successfully executing the duties of the job. This is a very customer-oriented position, and you may be asked by internal staff to assist with a variety of tasks, not limited to the job duties described below. The successful candidate must be able to work with a wide variety of day-to-day issues and work styles. Duties include but are not limited to: Line Manager calendar maintenance. Purchase card ordering and reconciliation. Meeting and event planning and scheduling, including coordination and logistics for on-site and potentially off-site meetings as well as webinars. New employee onboarding Interfacing with outside entities and individuals including subcontractors, vendors, speakers, and others as needed. Processing work orders and move forms. Working with numerous online administrative tools Coordinating foreign and domestic travel including submitting requests, tracking approvals, reserving airfare, lodging and rental cars and processing expense reports Purchase orders, requisitions and invoice processing, as well as coordinating placement of subcontracts. Coordinate lab inspections, take notes and submit findings in Inspection Tracker Composing presentations Assisting with publication preparation and documentation Other duties as assigned. . Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope or equivalent relevant education/experience. Solid knowledge of the job. Substantial understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. Intermediate skills in applicable software packages and office equipment. Basic project administration skills. Ability to prioritize work. Proficient in written and verbal communications. Very good team and interpersonal skills. Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week) Job Profile: Business Support II / Annual Salary Range: $42,700 - $68,300 NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
