POSITION SUMMARY: In this role, you will contribute to the long-term economic success of the plant via automation, process control & recipe, process commissioning, process optimization & standardization, process safety, capital projects, and troubleshooting. The role involves collaborating with a broad range of teams, including operations, supply chain, EHS, maintenance, and engineering to accomplish business goals.
POSTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serving as the Manufacturing Representative on various capital projects, you will provide process and design input through project scope, justification, timing, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Owning, completing, and documenting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews and revalidation. As the owner of the plant safety concept, you will ensure compliance to those safety standards as part of the sustainable EHS plan. You will also ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations/policies, procedures, and technical standards.
- Providing process safety management (PSM), root cause analysis (RCA) and audit support related to process safety. You will support the implementation of best safety practices.
- Providing technology expertise for chemicals as you will be the focal point for further development and optimization of processes in the plant, which includes leading plant trials. You will also provide periodic technical training on process technology for various team members and provide troubleshooting support as needed.
- Collaborating with operations to develop and implement automation solutions to minimize variable cost and improve the overall effectiveness of our production technology.
- Interfacing and working together with production & global technology, process safety, engineering, research, maintenance, and other business groups with primary focus on innovation and best practices sharing and implementation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a bachelor's or advanced degree in chemical engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- A minimum of 7+ years' experience in the chemical process industry (batch processes) in a PSM environment.
- PE certification preferred.
- 7+ years of practical experience in process control and troubleshooting process equipment.
- Coatings industry, Autocad/Design, and Automation industry experience preferred.
- Possess previous experience with capital project development and execution, and a strong understanding of process engineering concepts and their applications.
- Are knowledgeable of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable code and regulations and standards.
- Have excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication skills, and strong business acumen.
