The Coordinator, Receiving Distribution Center coordinates the daily operation of the Receiving Center. Oversees distribution center receiving functions and is responsible for compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines and requirements. Supervises the Distribution Center inventory control and computer operations. Assists with education, quality control, security and safety for the Distribution Center.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and works with Distribution Center Employees. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the Distribution Center in the absence of the Supervisor and Manager
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, environmental and infection control standards
Compares computer balances and periodic checks of physical inventory. Makes adjustments when required to inventory quantity on hands
Ensures that all supplies are ordered, received and distributed in a timely manner
Arranges adequate space requirements for storage of products
Modifies receiving techniques and practices as required to ensure incoming goods are routed to the proper destination
Routes incoming goods to the proper departments
Directs the work of Receiving Center staff
Maintains an adequate quantity on hand of supplies daily as required for proper patient care
Participates in the orientation of new employees. Assists with teaching, orienting and in servicing Distribution Center employees
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Standing for up to 6 hours, up to 3 hours at a time. Walking for up to 6 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Sitting for up to 2 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Frequently uses fingers for data entry, etc. Frequently
uses hands for stocking of shelves, etc. Frequently uses upper extremities to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation.
Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony. Frequently pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
EDUCATION:
Associate degree in business administration and/or Distribution Center supervisory experience with 3- 5 years of experience in the following departments required: Distribution Center, Receiving and Purchasing.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years' experience in a Distribution Center, Receiving and Purchasing. Computer literate with Inventory Control, Materials Management and Windows application. Thorough knowledge of inventory
control and warehousing processes.
