Job Description
Global Soybean and Meal Lead Analyst
Are you passionate about analyzing the global soybean and meal markets and identifying trade opportunities? Do you have strong analytical skills and experience in supporting risk management? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our Global Soybean and Meal Lead Analyst position.
As a Global Soybean and Meal Lead Analyst, you will work directly with the respective Global Heads of Soybean and Meal to lead the fundamental analysis for key markets, such as China, Brazil, Argentina, and the US. You will provide support for risk management by developing supply and demand analysis/models, forecasting prices, and highlighting trade imbalances and potential trade opportunities. You will also communicate your findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, such as traders and senior managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support to the Global Head of Soybean and Meal by leveraging fundamental supply and demand analyses for key markets, in collaboration with regional research teams and data science experts.
- Identify and analyze key themes in the current trade environment and update the group on future trends that may impact the oilseeds market.
- Apply modeling techniques and data analysis methods to obtain relevant insights and formulate effective trading recommendations based on economic trends and market conditions.
- Identify profitable trading strategies in the agricultural space, leveraging sound fundamental analysis and exploring potential cash trading opportunities in domestic and international markets, as well as spread, flat price and relative value functions.
- Regularly present balance sheet updates to the Product Line though conference calls, emails, and presentations.
- Engage in daily communication with internal stakeholders, such as traders and senior managers, to provide updates on market trends and trading recommendations.
- Work with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to improve the centralized research database with all available relevant supply, demand, premium, weather, logistics, etc data.
Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, agriculture, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in oilseeds commodity market analysis.
- Ability to utilize data to anticipate and forecast future scenario outcomes.
- Knowledge of statistical and econometric methods.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Coding/python skills a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adheres to high standards of intellectual honesty.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
