Arch Systems is looking for a Sr. Data Product Manager with a background in deeply technical SaaS B2B products to lead our data engine, which powers Arch's core functionality. This role combines product vision and technical know-how. You will shine in this role if you have a strong product management foundation and basic knowledge of SQL, AWS, and an aptitude for machine data analysis. This role requires PMs to translate machine insights into valuable product features, collaborating closely with engineering, data science, and users to create a powerful data platform that meets complex manufacturing needs.
We're primarily seeking senior-level candidates, but strong mid-level applicants (2-4 years) may also be considered for a Product Manager role with the opportunity to grow within our team.
What You Will Own & Drive
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for our data analytics platform. Ensure alignment with business goals and address the evolving needs of users in the manufacturing sector.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with engineering, data science, customer success, and application engineering teams to understand user pain points, resolve technical challenges, and deliver impactful, high-value features.
- Insight Development & Optimization: Define and establish actionable data insights specific to discrete manufacturing, including production efficiency, quality metrics, and uptime. Set standards for the types of insights our platform will deliver to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Technical Expertise & Data Integration: Leverage data from diverse sources to make informed product decisions. Demonstrate a strong understanding of machine-generated data, connectivity, and integrity while ensuring the platform meets specific user needs.
- Project Management & Organization: Apply strong organizational skills to manage and deliver product features on time, maintaining a structured approach to project execution and feature prioritization.
What You Bring to The Table
- Experience: 5+ years as a Product Manager in SaaS, ideally with a focus on technical, data-driven products. Candidates with 2-4 years of relevant experience may be considered for a mid-level Product Manager role with growth potential.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related disciplines. Advanced degrees (MBA or MS) are preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analytics and data engineering principles, with experience in tools and methodologies for KPI tracking, reporting, and driving data-centric decisions.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SQL, AWS, and a foundational understanding of machine data analysis. Experience with machine connectivity, IoT, or industrial data systems is highly desirable.
- Product Strategy & Vision: Demonstrated ability to create and drive a product vision, align product strategy with business goals, and roadmap data-intensive products for B2B users.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across teams, including engineering, data science, customer success, and user teams, to translate user needs into valuable product features.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to ensure timely and structured delivery of product features, with an ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to simplify technical details for diverse audiences and present insights that drive business impact.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to resolve technical challenges, identify new opportunities for product enhancement, and drive continuous improvement.
- User-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for users, with a knack for understanding their needs and translating them into data-driven solutions that provide measurable value.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Data Visualization & Reporting Tools: Experience with Grafana, business intelligence (BI) tools, and KPI reporting systems to monitor and visualize product performance.
- Big Data Platforms & Industrial IoT: Exposure to big data platforms, machine connectivity, IoT systems, or similar industrial data environments that facilitate large-scale data processing and analysis.
- Manufacturing Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to support product integration and user needs.
- Manufacturing Metrics Expertise: Understanding of key manufacturing metrics, such as Units Per Hour (UPH), yield rates, downtime tracking, and the financial implications of these metrics on operational efficiency.
