Job Description Job Summary: The VDC Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for trade-related modeling standards development and training for new and existing IES employees and model quality audits ensuring accuracy, completeness, and constructability. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Review virtual design and construction models for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to IES, customer, and project-specific requirements. Work closely with internal and external project managers, modelers, coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of virtual models with project goals and specifications. Identify and document discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in models and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve issues. Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to maintain high standards of model accuracy, reliability, and constructability. Maintain detailed records of model reviews, corrections, and approvals to track project progress and ensure compliance with quality standards. Provide training, guidance, and support to project teams on best practices for virtual design and construction processes. Coordinate and communicate with VDC, design, and operations teams to resolve issues in the model, in the drawings, and in the field. Assist VDC and Operations teams in reviewing and resolving issues during construction and updating the model and drawings accordingly. Monitor industry trends and advancements in VDC technologies to continuously improve QA processes and optimize project outcomes. Min USD $65,000.00/Yr. Max USD $90,000.00/Yr. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be self-motivated, positive in approach. Must promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within the company territory as needed. Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team. Flexible in handling assignments and attention to detail. Regular attendance is mandatory. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: High School diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience in IES specific trades, compliance management, and/or quality assurance. 1-3 years of experience with Bluebeam Revu, or other PDF management software, required. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Must meet company minimum driving standards. Knowledge of construction industry standards, specifically low-voltage, access control, video surveillance, audiovisual, and/or life safety systems. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and execute daily plans. Excellent written and oral communication. Excellent interpersonal skills. VDC Key Performance Indicators: Project Efficiency - Ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, minimizing waste and delays. Cost Savings - Maximizing financial efficiency by reducing unnecessary expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Role Specific Key Performance Indicators: Model Accuracy - Measure the percentage of models that meet established accuracy standards. Error Resolution Time - Track the average time taken to identify and resolve model discrepancies. Quality Control Effectiveness - Evaluate the effectiveness of quality control processes by monitoring rework rates and error recurrence.
